What Materials Can Be Joined With a Hand Riveter?

There are many different types of materials that can be joined with a hand riveter. They include metals, plastics and even timber.
Rivets are commonly used for joining materials together but also can be used to attach items such as a knife blade or an accessory. They are a great alternative to bolts and screws as they can be stronger and more reliable.

The way a rivet is used to join two surfaces together involves drilling a hole through one of the items to be joined at the point that you want it to be joined. Then inserting a rivet with a pin and a mandrel inside. Then the rivet gun handles are squeezed together which pulls the pin through the rivet and crushes it against the surface of the item being joined.

Using a rivet gun is very simple to use and you can do it by yourself with some basic knowledge of how it works. The rivets that are available come in a range of sizes so you should be able to find a suitable size to fit your needs.

Choose a rivet gun with a good balance of speed and power (this will depend on the material you are working with). Fast-hitting guns continue to hammer as long as the trigger is held down. They are a good choice for soft rivets but can be difficult to control if you are not familiar with how they work.
